I didn’t plan to fall in love with Knysna, I planned to pass through it.

You put it on the itinerary as a stop between Mossel Bay and Plettenberg Bay and then you arrive, see the lagoon sitting green and still between the famous Heads, those dramatic sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth where the water meets the Indian Ocean and suddenly you’re extending your stay and pretending you always meant to.
Knysna is a local favourite along the Garden Route, known for its pristine beaches, idyllic lagoons, and a mix of laid-back atmosphere and stunning natural beauty. It’s the kind of town that doesn’t try hard. It doesn’t need to.
